Maxon 'New World EP' - Out Now

Join the revolution - Melbourne pop sensation Maxon releases independent debut EP 'New World'.

New World is about a revolution. It’s dark but not sad or evil. The world isn’t ending, it’s growing and going to become something beyond our control, but we can choose our own path within it. The New World EP challenges themes like unconditional love, heartbreak, change and human strength.

'New World' is out now through Bandcamp, Spotify and iTunes

'Most Innovative Remix' at B-Side Project Awards 2016

Many thanks to the judges at this year's B-Side Project for awarding me the 'Most Innovative Remix' with my remix of Barcelona, by Adrienne O.

My remix, along 9 others will be professionally mastered at Metropolis Studios and released as part of a compilation album on the B-Side Recordings label, distributed by Republic of Music and available to download via numerous online retailers including iTunes. The remixes will also be available for publishing through Metropolis.

My approach from day one has always been to challenge some aspect of the production in a remix; sonically or by arrangement, so I am very grateful for this special recognition.

Many congratulations to the other winners: Loomis (Most Imaginative Remix), Chemikal Recipe (Public Choice), DaftFader (Best Arrangement) and Boy Martel (Best Remix).

Thanks also to MissChivers for setting this project up! To Graham Boswell and everyone at Prism Sound, all at Metropolis Studios, Estelle Rubio, Krystalroxx, Roni Size, Normski, Jen Armstrong and NoiseWander all other contestants and judges I met on the night, James Wiltshire and everyone else who've supported me and the track along the way. WhoSampled, ACS Custom, Electronic Sound Magazine, Soundcheque and Hoxton FM.

Adrienne O's Elevation EP is out April 22nd, and includes the original version of Barcelona. If you are in Denver, Colorado area, you can buy tickets to the launch party on April 23rd HERE.

B-Side Project 2016 Remix Finalist

I've remixed the song Barcelona by Adrienne O for this year's B-Side Project and happy to announce I have made the shortlist for the awards ceremony at Metropolis Studios in London on the 14th of April.

There are four award categories up for grabs: Best Arrangement, Most Imaginative track and Most Innovative track, with the fourth going to the track that pulls in the most votes from the public. A big thank you to the judges and everyone who voted for getting me this far!

Orbits - Out Now

1. Weightless (feat. AAA+)
2. Midnight

February 9th 2016,

After a string of acclaimed remixes, UK-based Dan Villalobos announces his debut digital release Orbits, a 2-track electronic project - the first in a series of original releases for 2016. Blending a contemporary sound with industrial accents, Orbits embraces Villalobos' sound of the past three years. An international effort, the project features a collaboration with singer-producer AAA+ from Adelaide, Australia.

Orbits is a juxstaposing journey through minimal, industrial electronica, exploring natural cycles of light and darkness, beginnings and endings.

Weightless (co-written with and featuring AAA+), brings a powerful message of hope and joy to the dance floor with determined vocals reaffirming the human desire for a brighter reality; our never ending quest to work side by side.

With pulsating layers, Midnight weaves dark, mechanical undertones, setting the scene for an underground world, crescendoing into an uplifting experience, as we ready for the new day ahead.

Orbits is available now via Bandcamp.

Maddison Wilson - This Time

I recently mixed Maddison Wilson's new acoustic single 'This Time', which was a lot of fun. The track is available from Bandcamp.

'This Time' was mastered by Andrew Edgson from Studio 301 and features guitars and background vocals by Nayomi Pattuwage (NMP Projects) and Isaac Bradbury.

Music for The MJCast

Earlier in the year I was asked to produce an introductory piece of music for The MJCast - a new, engaging podcast on all things Michael Jackson - formed by Australian-based fans Jamon Bull and Q. As a long-time admirer of the King of Pop, I was more than happy to contribute to the project.

With the 10th anniversary of Michael Jackson's 2005 vindication in court last weekend, the MJCast team have released a special 2-hour episode featuring a stunning interview with Michael Jackson's then-defence attorney, the highly regarded Tom Meserau

I'm very happy to have the theme premiere on this very special episode. Listen below:
